Pakistani Woman : మహిళలకు డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ ఇవ్వరా ? మనుషులం కాదా అంటూ ప్రశ్నిస్తోంది పాక్ దేశానికి చెందిన మహిళ. ద్విచక్ర వాహనానికి లైసెన్స్ ఇవ్వడానికి అధికారులు నిరాకరించారంటూ..మహిళ ప్రధాన మంత్రి ఇమ్రాన్ ఖాన్ కు ట్వీట్ చేసింది.
ఈ ట్వీట్ క్షణాల్లో వైరల్ అవుతోంది. ఇంకా అక్కడ లింగ వివక్ష కొనసాగుతుందనడానికి ఇది ఒక ఉదహారణగా చెప్పవచ్చంటున్నారు.
కరాచీకి చెందిన Shireen Ferozepurwalla మహిళ లైసెన్స్ కోసం దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవడానికి Clifton ప్రభుత్వ అధికారిని సంప్రదించింది. కానీ అక్కడున్న అధికారి లెసెన్స్ ఇవ్వడానికి నిరాకరించారని మహిళ వాపోయింది. వెంటనే మహిళలకు లెసెన్స్ ఇవ్వరా అని ఆరా తీసేందుకు ప్రయత్నించింది.
మరొక లెసెన్స్ కార్యాలయంలో తెలిసిన వారిని సంప్రదించింది. కానీ..నిజంగానే మహిలకు లెసెన్స్ లు ఇవ్వడం లేదని తెలిసి నిర్ఘాంతపోయింది.
తనకు జరిగిన ఘటనను ట్విట్టర్ వేదికగా పంచుకుంది. ప్రధాన మంత్రి ఇమ్రాన్ ఖాన్ కు ట్యాగ్ చేసింది. పాకిస్తాన్ లో మహిళ బైక్ నడుపకూడదా ? అంటూ ప్రశ్నించింది. తనకు లెసెన్స్ ఇవ్వడానికి అధికారులు నిరాకరించారని, ఇదెక్కడ రూల్ ? వెంటనే స్పందించాలని కోరింది. “Larkiyo ko bike ka license nahi dete, aap gaari chalaye.” వెల్లడించింది.
అధికారులపై తీవ్ర ఒత్తిడి చేసిన మహిళలే లైసెన్స్ పొందారని Shireen Ferozepurwalla తెలుసుకుంది. ఘటన జరిగిన రెండు రోజుల తర్వాత…Clifton DSP సంప్రదించారని మరొక ట్వీట్ లో మహిళ తెలిపింది.
చివరకు తనకు లెసెన్స్ ఇచ్చారని, ఈ సమస్యను పరిష్కరించడానికి తనకు సహాయం చేసిన వారికి ధన్యావాదాలు తెలియచేస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపారామె.

Can a woman not ride a bike in Pakistan? I’m being told by the License Office that they do not issue bike riding licenses to women.They said and I quote: “Larkiyo ko bike ka license nahi dete, aap gaari chalaye.”
Why? What kind of rule is this? Please respond.

Got bike riding classes last month. Was literally so relieved to be able to ride a bike. You see, I can’t really afford a car right now and with the surging rates of other transport services, it was getting a little difficult for me to stay within my budget.
