డా.ప్రియాంక రెడ్డి కేసుపై దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా నిరసనలు వ్యక్తమౌతున్నాయి. నిందితులను కఠినంగా శిక్షించాలని డిమాండ్స్ వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. వివిధ రంగాలకు చెందిన వారు స్పందిస్తున్నారు. టాలీవుడ్ నుంచి బాలీవుడ్ వరకు మండిపడుతోంది. తాజాగా దర్శకుడు రాంగోపాల్ వర్మ స్పందించారు. ట్విట్టర్ వేదికగా ట్వీట్ చేశారు. ఈ దారుణానికి పాల్పడిన వారు పిచ్చి చుక్కలతో సమానమన్నారు. అలాంటి వారిని చంపాలని డిమాండ్ చేయడం సమయం వృధా చేసుకోవడమేనన్నారు. మహిళలకు ఎలాంటి రక్షణ ఇవ్వవచ్చనే దానిపై సమయం కేటాయిస్తే బాగుంటుందన్నారు.
రేపిస్టులను ప్రశ్నించడం టీవీల్లో ప్రసారం చేయాలని, చంపేయాలి..తగులబెట్టాలి అనే సాధ్యం కాని డిమాండ్లు చేసే బదులు..వారిని ప్రశ్నించడం ద్వారా వాళ్లల్లో అలాంటి రాక్షస నేర ప్రవృత్తి ఎలా వచ్చిందో తెలుసుకొనే ఛాన్స్ ఉంటుందన్నారు. వాళ్లు అంత దుర్మార్గంగా ఎలా ఆలోచించారు ? ఎందుకు ఆలోచించారు ? అని తెలుసుకొంటే భవిష్యత్‌లో రేపిస్టులను పసిగట్టే అవకాశం ఉంటుందని వర్మ అభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

వెటర్నరీ డాక్టర్ డా.ప్రియాంక రెడ్డి రేప్ అండ్ మర్డర్ కేసులో నలుగురు నిందితులను అరెస్టు చేశారు. ప్రజాగ్రహం పెల్లుబికడంతో అత్యంత పకడ్బంది భద్రత నడుమ చర్లపల్లి జైలుకు తరలించారు. అందుకు ముందు నిందితులకు 14 రోజుల రిమాండ్ విధించారు. వీరిని ఉరి తీయాలని డిమాండ్స్ వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. అయితే..నిందితుల తల్లి దండ్రులు బాధను వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు. తమ కొడుకులు ఇలాంటి పనిచేస్తారని అనుకోలేదని విలపిస్తున్నారు. ఇలాంటి వారికి ఏ శిక్ష వేసినా సమ్మతిస్తామని వారు వెల్లడిస్తున్నారు.

Instead of just catching,punishing and forgetting till the next rape happens we as people should hear from their mouths why exactly they came to think of women like prey to be hunted so that by understanding those mindsets we can hope to detect other potential rapists

Instead of impractical emotional outbursts of wanting to castrate them and burning them the concerned organisations should demand for a televised questioning of the rapists by psychiatrists and social scientists to understand what makes such people possible
